Join me this fall for a three-week virtual residency in the process of using mixed media. This is a self-directed studio experience designed for artists seeking creative momentum, experimentation, accountability, and connection within a supportive artistic community. The residency is a “build upon” experience that can be repeated season after season. Emerging to Mid-Career level with content valuable for both abstractionists and realists.

Two hour sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays for three consecutive weeks. Dates are September 14, 16, 21, 23, 28,and 30. 1-3pm Eastern Time. $195

Over the course of three weeks, artists will participate in six live online sessions (two per week). Each two-hour session is designed as a conversational check-in combined with a focused live demonstration led by me. In the second hour, there will be an open studio experience as I will be painting on a large work while attendees work in their own studios. Sessions are intentionally fast-paced and concise, allowing you to return quickly to your own studio practice and continue pursuing your self-directed residency goals.

Throughout the residency, participants will also have access to individualized support through email for questions, feedback, and personalized mentoring.

Demo topics will include:
• Breaking the spell of the stark white canvas to get yourself moving
• Building collage through spontaneous creation of a variety of papers
• Discovering shapes within gestural line compositions
• The power of simply sitting with your work
• Methods for sealing and finishing paintings
• Creating a cohesive series through a modular process

Each session will include a brief lightning-round progress report from every resident to encourage accountability, momentum, and community support. The final session of the residency will conclude with a virtual visit to each artist’s creative space, offering a glimpse into the discoveries and work developed during the two weeks.

Artists of all experience levels and working in all media are welcome.
